"Administrative Reasons"

When installing AADS, the installation might fail with the message "Administrative Reasons". There can be a couple of reasons why this message appear.

 


To many installations in the past period

The AADS License can be installed again if such is required. However, we have implemented "sanity limits". It is not possible to install the same license 20x in 1 day.
Once in a while it does happen that a customer attempts to install AADS 20x in the same day. Usually this is done, not because there is an AADS problem, but there is some other problem like anti-virus software which is not working properly. Unfortunately because of the anti-virus software problems, AADS Terminal Server does also not work properly. And therefore it is attempted to solve the non-AADS problem with multiple AADS installations.
Another example why AADS does not seem to be working, is the Windows Firewall . Be sure to open the RDP and / or SSL port of the Windows Firewall on your AADS Terminal Server.

If this is the applicable reason in your case, you can use the License Reset procedure. It will enable again the installation of your AADS License.


Attempt to install the AADS License on a second, different server

Once the AADS License is installed, it is bound to the server onto which it is installed. Our main License Term , and business is:

In case your AADS License is an Offline License, it is possible to install the AADS License on the "next" server after 180 days / 6 months. We do expect that the economic lifespan of your server is at least 6 months. If you need to install the Offline AADS License sooner then 180 days / 6 months on a second, different server, we do ask a fee in such a case.

In case your AADS License is an Online License, it is always possible to install the AADS License on the "next" server when you need that. This is free-of-charge. However the previous paragraph about "To many installations in the past period" does apply. You should not expect that it is possible to install an AADS Online License once every week.

Solution

If this is the applicable reason in your case, you can use the License Reset procedure. It will enable again the installation of your AADS License.

Incorrect AADS version

Your AADS License is for a specific Windows version and is limited to a specific number of users. Example:
